The BCCI has restructured its Men’s Selection Committee, naming Pragyan Ojha as the new chairperson. Ojha assumes this leadership role due to his extensive experience, having participated in more Test matches than any other member of the current panel.
Ramesh Powar joins the committee as a new member, taking over the vacancy left by the departing Ajit Agarkar. The full selection board now consists of Ojha, Powar, Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh, and Ajay Ratra.
During his previous tenure, Agarkar oversaw a successful period for the national team, including victories in the 2023 and 2025 Asia Cups, the 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cups, and the 2025 Champions Trophy. His panel also managed key leadership transitions, such as appointing Shubman Gill as captain across formats and selecting Shreyas Iyer to lead the T20I side.
