
Following recent postseason action, early polling regarding the World Series participants has taken a hit for nearly a quarter of respondents. Nearly twelve percent of voters backed Houston and another eleven percent selected Boston, yet both squads suffered sweeps in the opening round.
Meanwhile, the top two American League choices, Tampa and Cleveland, avoided that fate after earning byes, securing over forty percent and twenty-five percent of the projections respectively. Other selections included the Yankees, who eliminated the Red Sox, alongside a small fraction backing the Chicago White Sox.
Over in the National League, Milwaukee captured a commanding majority of the projections at nearly sixty percent. Los Angeles followed as the next most popular choice, while Philadelphia garnered support after managing a late comeback victory.
Additional votes were scattered among Chicago, San Diego, and Atlanta. The Commissioner's Trophy was previously displayed at Rogers Centre prior to a matchup between Chicago and Toronto.
