Police officer hurt after Liverpool-Man City game

Trouble marred the weekend fixture between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield, where visiting City secured a three-goal victory. Local authorities reported that a police constable suffered severe facial trauma and required hospital treatment following the disturbance, though the officer is now recuperating at home.

Ten individuals faced arrest during the operation, including five supporters detained over tragedy chanting allegations. Additional arrests involved offenses such as physical assault against law enforcement, affray, public drunkenness, and hurling objects onto the playing surface.

This fixture marked City's initial outing since facing a guilty verdict on numerous Premier League financial breaches.
