PM Modi to meet India’s Asian Games gold-winning cricket team on October 15

Following their successful run to the top of the podium at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, the Indian men's cricket squad has received an invitation for a special gathering with the nation's leader. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host the champions on October 15 after they defended their crown by defeating Pakistan in the title clash.

Led by Shreyas Iyer, the group showcased dominant form throughout the knockout rounds, which included a commanding semifinal victory over Sri Lanka at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin. Standout batting contributions from Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, and Tilak Varma powered the side through the tournament, while the bowling unit held firm under intense pressure during the final moments against their arch-rivals.
