India Women’s cricket team will face Zimbabwe Women in a historic three-match T20I series, marking their first-ever encounters in the shortest format. The series kicks off on October 16 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, with all matches scheduled for 7:00 PM local time (2:30 PM UK time).
Smriti Mandhana will lead India for the first time as a full-time captain in any format, taking over after previously guiding the side in 18 T20Is, where she recorded 11 wins, six losses, and one no result. The squad includes Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma, who has been named Mandhana’s deputy, while Jemimah Rodrigues is sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will field the same team that recently defeated the West Indies in an ODI, with Josephine Nkomo’s side aiming to build on their recent progress despite losing all three prior T20Is against the Windies. Star Sports Network and JioHotstar will broadcast the series in India, with further streaming details for other regions to be announced later.
