Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Detroit Tigers: Jared Jones vs. River Ryan

The Pittsburgh Pirates conclude their 162nd contest of the regular season on the road against the Detroit Tigers. Jared Jones takes the mound for Pittsburgh, bringing a five-and-six record and a 3.87 earned run average into his twentieth appearance of the campaign.

Having missed the entirety of the previous season due to physical setbacks, the right-hander has displayed encouraging progress and enters this matchup fresh off a stellar outing where he baffled St. Louis hitters across seven scoreless frames.

Opposing him is River Ryan, who gets the nod for Detroit after recently joining the organization via trade from Los Angeles and making his initial brief appearance following a September call-up. With the regular slate concluding, both young arms look to finish their campaigns on a high note before their clubs transition into the offseason.
