Jon Yarbrough, the former caddie for Phil Mickelson, has been hired by Ben Griffin ahead of the 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open, ending Griffin’s partnership with Alex Ritthamel. The move comes after Griffin’s breakout 2025 season, which featured a team win at the Zurich Classic with Andrew Novak and individual victories at the Charles Schwab Challenge and the World Wide Technology Championship.
The PGA Tour’s indefinite ban on LIV Golf players does not extend to caddies, allowing Yarbrough – who joined Mickelson’s LIV squad in April 2024 after working with Scott Stallings and was praised by Mickelson as the best green reader he’s seen – to return to the Tour. At 30, Yarbrough also earned his first U.S.
Ryder Cup selection while paired with Ritthamel, though he and Mickelson did not capture a win together.
