The New England Patriots made two roster moves ahead of their AFC East showdown with the New York Jets, promoting practice-squad safety Elliott Davison to the active roster for Sunday’s matchup. The 24-year-old, who joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of UTSA in 2025, made his first NFL appearance beyond preseason last week against the Las Vegas Raiders, recording two tackles and a pass deflection in 10 defensive snaps and 19 on special teams.
Davison’s elevation gives the Patriots a third and final call-up opportunity before he must be added to the 53-man roster to take the field. Meanwhile, the team released running back Hassan Haskins from the practice squad, ending his brief return to New England after a workout led to a contract ahead of the preseason.
Haskins, a fourth-round pick in 2022, had previously played for the Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers, logging limited action in 44 career games before his stint with the Patriots.
