Patriots defense expects challenge from Steelers’ ‘conflict piece’
Ahead of their Week 2 clash against Pittsburgh, New England's defense is preparing to counter veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Patriots defensive coordinator Zak Kuhr noted that the 42-year-old passer retains his exceptional velocity and precision, ensuring he remains a dangerous threat under center.
Rodgers intends to keep feeding top wideout DK Metcalf, while also welcoming tight end Pat Freiermuth back into action following his 2026 debut.
On the other side of the ball, New England cornerback Christian Gonzalez is eager for his assignment against Metcalf, although the Patriots secondary faces potential depth concerns after head coach Mike Vrabel designated Carlton Davis as questionable due to a neck issue. Meanwhile, Steelers tight end Darnell Washington and his wife, Estefany, recently celebrated the arrival of a new addition to their family.
