Yuito Suzuki ended a challenging stretch of form by netting a goal in SC Freiburg's 2-0 win against Union Berlin. Manager Julian Schuster credited the result to dedicated work from his staff to help the 25-year-old regain his confidence.
Suzuki, who previously scored a hat-trick against Werder Bremen and a volley against Eintracht Frankfurt, had struggled since a red card against Schalke 04. While an own goal by Rani Khedira initially appeared to be his, Suzuki eventually secured his fifth league goal of the season by chipping Frederik Rønnow following a setup by Derry Scherhant.
The performance earned him top honors from Get German Football News after a period where his statistical output had dipped significantly.
