Patriots captain invokes Bill Belichick after Jaguars loss

Following a crushing thirty-five to six defeat against Jacksonville, New England Patriots defensive leader Kevin Byard addressed the media by invoking a classic philosophy from former head coach Bill Belichick. Byard stressed the importance of returning to basics and focusing on individual execution rather than assigning blame, especially after a dismal defensive performance that allowed five touchdowns on five red zone trips.

The veteran safety acknowledged the unacceptable nature of their defensive output, noting that the unit failed to secure a single stop during the blowout. As the squad prepares for an upcoming divisional matchup against Buffalo, Byard emphasized that the roster must block out external criticism, regroup collectively, and return immediately to work.
