Panthers could be down 2 key defensive backs vs. Lions

Ahead of their upcoming Sunday night matchup, the Carolina Panthers are facing a potential shortage at cornerback as they prepare to take on the Detroit Lions. Top cornerback Jaycee Horn has been ruled out for an indefinite period following a quad injury sustained in a recent defeat against the Cleveland Browns, dealing a major blow to the secondary.

Adding to the defensive concerns, fellow starting outside cornerback Mike Jackson also exited that same game due to a groin issue and did not return. With both key veterans sidelined, the remaining depth chart consists of Will Lee III, Akayleb Evans, Chau Smith-Wade, and practice squad members DeVonta Smith, Zion Childress, and Corey Thornton.
