Pant's fitness doubt, Bumrah's return headline NZ squad

India’s Test squad for the upcoming New Zealand tour has been announced, with a mix of returning stars and leadership shifts ahead of the two-match Test series and five-match ODI series. Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been included in the Test squad but remains subject to fitness clearance after a recent left-side strain ruled him out of the India A matches.

Jasprit Bumrah, a key fast bowler, is set to make his return to the Test side, while Shubman Gill will lead the team in both the Test series and the first three ODIs. Shreyas Iyer will take over as captain for the final two ODIs, marking a strategic rotation ahead of the 2024 ODI World Cup preparations.

The Test series kicks off in Wellington on November 19, followed by the ODI series starting in Auckland on November 4. The squads feature established players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja, alongside emerging talents such as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
