The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has relocated two President’s Trophy Grade 1 matches from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to the province’s political unrest and the imposition of governor’s rule. The fixtures, originally scheduled at Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar and Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, have been moved to Sheikhupura and Lahore following the federal government’s declaration of a state of emergency.
The decision disrupts the ongoing first-class tournament, with the league stage nearing its conclusion and the final round now pushed back to October 19. Among the affected matches, Ghani’s team will now face Hyderabad Kingsmen Academy at Rana Naveed Academy in Sheikhupura, while SNGPL vs.
OGDCL has been shifted to Lahore’s LCCA Ground. The PCB’s adjustments reflect broader efforts to stabilize domestic cricket amid escalating tensions, including the detention of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and his cabinet members under the new political measures.
Meanwhile, matches in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will proceed as planned, highlighting the uneven impact of the crisis on the tournament’s schedule.
