Exeter Chiefs winger Immanuel Feyi-Waboso will undergo further medical assessment after suffering a hamstring issue during Saturday’s 34-28 Premiership victory over Newcastle. The 23-year-old was substituted after 15 minutes of the second half at Sandy Park, marking Exeter’s first win of the season.
Feyi-Waboso had previously started all three of the Chiefs’ league games this term, including a two-try performance against Bath last week, and featured in every England Nations Championship match over the summer, scoring against Fiji and Argentina. His injury adds to a history of setbacks: he missed the 2025 Six Nations with a hamstring problem in January and sat out the latter half of last season due to a shoulder injury.
Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter described the issue as a minor overload rather than a severe strain, though Feyi-Waboso’s discomfort during the game—including a high-speed chase near fullback—led to the decision for a scan and further evaluation early this week. With England’s autumn internationals against Australia, Japan, and New Zealand looming in November, the timing of Feyi-Waboso’s return remains uncertain.
