and Manny Machado hit first-inning home runs off Boyd, while Xander Bogaerts added another blast later in the contest. Michael King pitched six no-hit innings for San Diego before Nico Hoerner broke up the no-hitter in the seventh.
Javier Assad and Ryan Rolison also saw relief action for Chicago, with Jackson Merrill driving in two runs during a productive Padres inning.
