Omar Cooper Jr. becomes latest Jets rookie with breakout performance to help make history
Rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. returned from an early-season ankle injury to post six receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown during the New York Jets' 26-19 defeat against the New England Patriots.
His performance included a 48-yard scoring reception thrown by Geno Smith in the third quarter. Cooper joins teammates David Bailey and Kenyon Sadiq as first-round picks who have registered standout performances this year, with Cooper and Sadiq also becoming the third rookie pair in franchise history to record 100-yard receiving games in the same campaign.
