Veteran wicketkeeper John Simpson has departed Sussex to join Nottinghamshire on a two-year contract, committing his future to the Trent Bridge club past his fortieth birthday. During his recent tenure at Hove, the thirty-eight-year-old skipper led the squad to a promotion campaign and a third-place finish in the table.
Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores praised the acquisition for bringing proven experience and offering tactical flexibility regarding overseas roster spots. The move concludes Kyle Verreynne's tenure with the East Midlands side following his departure earlier in the year.
