Notre Dame vs. BYU Preview: Undefeated Top 10 Teams Set for Showdown

The college football season’s most anticipated clash unfolds Saturday night as two undefeated powerhouses, No. 2 Notre Dame and No.

8 BYU, collide in Provo, Utah. The Fighting Irish (6-0) enter the game on a dominant note after dismantling Stanford 58-7, while BYU (5-0) follows up a 24-10 win over Iowa State.

The showdown at LaVell Edwards Stadium—scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC—marks the first time two top-10 teams have met in Provo, adding to the stakes as ESPN’s *College GameDay* sets up on BYU’s campus ahead of the matchup.

Notre Dame’s offense, led by quarterback CJ Carr, has thrived with a balanced attack, while running back Jonaz Walton has emerged as a key playmaker with 409 rushing yards through six games. BYU’s dual-threat quarterback, Bear Bachmeier, has thrown for 1,033 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 239 rushing yards, but Notre Dame’s defense will test his ability to sustain drives against a physical Cougars unit.

With playoff implications on the line, both teams aim to make a statement in a game where every snap could shift the narrative of their seasons.
