Rory McIlroy Chases Race To Dubai Title Against Patrick Reed

Rory McIlroy is aiming to secure his eighth Race to Dubai title at the DP World Tour event in New Delhi, a victory that would tie him with Colin Montgomerie for the all-time record. The path to that milestone is complicated by the presence of Patrick Reed, who currently leads the standings and has a history of competitive clashes with McIlroy, including their rivalry at the 2016 Ryder Cup and the 2018 Masters.

Both golfers have returned to the DP World Tour after Reed left the LIV Golf league and McIlroy supported the creation of the DP World India Championship as a new challenge. Their dynamic has evolved since the split in professional golf, with Reed winning tournaments since rejoining the circuit and McIlroy expressing confidence that the threat from LIV Golf is fading.

The pair exchanged a cordial moment during a photo opportunity on Tuesday, reflecting a shift in their relationship as they now compete for the same points in a unified tour environment.
