Notre Dame’s 6-0 start this season has gone largely unnoticed despite a dominant performance that would typically dominate headlines. The Fighting Irish crushed Stanford 58-7 this week, continuing a streak that includes a 17-point win over Michigan State and a 39-point road victory over Purdue.
Even against a resurgent North Carolina team, Notre Dame maintained control, showcasing a balanced attack led by quarterback CJ Carr, who has thrown for nearly 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for three more. The ground game has been equally lethal, with Jonaz Walton, Aneyas Williams, and Nolan James Jr.
each surpassing 228 rushing yards and combining for eight total touchdowns. The defense has also contributed, as Jordan Faison and Micah Gilbert have combined for over 700 receiving yards and six scores.
With just three more meaningful games—including a road trip to BYU and home matchups against Navy, Miami, and Boston College—Notre Dame remains a darkhorse contender for an undefeated season and a College Football Playoff berth under head coach Marcus Freeman.
