Notre Dame Defense Will Have To Improve Their Gameplan Against Tight Ends

The Fighting Irish defensive unit has experienced a noticeable dip in form compared to their dominant September performances, struggling significantly against opposing tight ends in recent matchups. During initial contests against major conference competition, the defense yielded minimal production to tight ends, but subsequent weeks saw players like Jelani Thurman, Shamar Easter, Benji Blackburn, and Walker Lyons rack up substantial receptions and multiple scores.

With upcoming fixtures against Miami, SMU, and Syracuse featuring potent tight end options, shoring up this vulnerability remains vital for the remainder of the schedule.
