NL batting leader Moreno scratched from D-backs' finale

Arizona catcher Moreno was a late scratch from the team's final regular season contest after experiencing ongoing discomfort in his hamstring. The National League batting leader had initially attempted to play through the issue before pulling out of the lineup.

If he remains on the bench, his current .311 average will hold up to secure the batting crown, leaving him just ahead of Philadelphia competitor Luis Arraez and marking the first time a backstop has claimed the honor since Buster Posey accomplished the feat in 2012.
