The early 2026 NFL season has already delivered standout performances, with two players in particular dominating their positions in Week 4. Quarterback Drake Maye, who had struggled in his first three games with six interceptions and just one touchdown, rebounded with a clutch performance for the New England Patriots.
He threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning score in a narrow victory over the Buffalo Bills, while also contributing 54 rushing yards on eight carries. The Patriots now have a chance to climb back into playoff contention with three of their next four games against the Raiders, Jets, and Dolphins.
Meanwhile, running back Kenneth Walker solidified his status as a mainstay with another dominant outing for the Kansas City Chiefs. He rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns, including a 76-yard fourth-quarter run and a 22-yard touchdown that sealed the win against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Walker’s third straight All-Star selection underscores his early-season consistency, even as other backs like Jonathan Taylor and Javonte Williams flashed brilliance in their respective games.
The wide receiver position also saw standout performances, with CeeDee Lamb emerging as the clear standout. The Dallas Cowboys’ star hauled in 17 catches for 189 yards and a touchdown, matching some of the most prolific single-game receiving efforts in NFL history on just 21 targets.
Lamb’s pace—on track for 2,115 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns—highlights his dominance, while other receivers like Kyle Monangai and Javonte Williams delivered game-changing plays in their respective victories. The Rams’ Williams, in particular, capped a late comeback against the Eagles with two rushing touchdowns and 10 receptions for 67 yards, helping his team climb to 2-2 after a slow start.
