The Sacramento Kings have honored their legendary radio broadcaster Gary 'G-Man' Gerould by renaming their media and press dining room the 'Gary 'G-Man' Gerould Media Center.' Gerould, now 86, is entering his 42nd season as the Kings' play-by-play announcer, a tenure that began when the team relocated to Sacramento in 1985. Known for his deep connection with fans and peers, Gerould has called over 3,000 Kings games, witnessing every era of the franchise, from its early days at ARCO Arena to the modern Golden 1 Center.
His longevity is matched only by his passion, as he continues to broadcast with the same enthusiasm after decades of service. The Kings' ownership praised Gerould for his unmatched storytelling and dedication, calling him the defining voice of the franchise.
Gerould himself reflected on the rare sense of family within the organization, crediting current leadership for fostering that environment. His most memorable years came during the Rick Adelman-led era (1999–2006), when the Kings assembled a competitive roster featuring stars like Chris Webber, Peja Stojaković, and Mike Bibby.
