The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) convened a performance review meeting with the senior women's cricket team in Guwahati on October 5, 2026. Led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur and head coach Amol Muzumdar, the session included BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and focused on evaluating the team’s recent results, which ranged from triumph in the Women’s Asia Cup and Asian Games gold to an underwhelming exit in the T20 World Cup earlier this year.
No immediate changes were announced, and Kaur is expected to retain her captaincy for the upcoming series against Zimbabwe Women, set to begin with three T20Is in Raipur from October 16 and three ODIs in Vadodara starting October 23. The selection committee, headed by Amita Sharma, will finalize the squad on October 6, with the ODIs contributing to the ICC Women’s Championship cycle running through 2029.
