NFC West standings, Week 5: Seahawks stay ahead of Rams after another late game meltdown

The Los Angeles Rams suffered a difficult 37-34 overtime defeat against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Despite a late rally to force the extra period, the Rams were undone by a blocked field goal attempt from Harrison Mevis and a critical fumble by James Cook that the Rams recovered but failed to capitalize on.

Head coach Sean McVay expressed significant frustration with his own late-game play-calling and the performance of his special teams unit. Following the loss, the Rams remain below .500, while the Seattle Seahawks maintain their lead in the NFC West standings despite their own recent loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
