The New York Knicks celebrated their NBA title with a ring and banner ceremony at Madison Square Garden before their season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. Head coach Mike Brown noted the high energy and unique nature of the Knicks' fan base during the pre-game festivities.
Tickets for the event, which averaged $2,000, were more than the cost of all other opening night games combined.
High-profile guests including NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Mets owner Steve Cohen, singer Jon Bon Jovi, and athletes Cam Schlittler, Ben Rice, and Michael Strahan attended. Fans arrived in championship gear, chanting "Knicks in 5" and interacting with championship-themed merchandise.
The atmosphere remained celebratory and relaxed until a hard foul by Joel Embiid shifted the mood.
