New UFC fight booked for Halloween card after grisly cut

The UFC’s upcoming Halloween card in New York City has been reshaped after a pair of fighters pulled out of their scheduled lightweight bout due to injuries. The withdrawal of Jefferson Nascimento and Nazim Sadykhov from UFC 334—set for November—marks the second fight cancellation for the event, following an earlier double withdrawal that left the card short-handed.

The organization now faces logistical challenges as it scrambles to replace the lost matchup, which could impact the event’s lineup and promotional momentum ahead of its Madison Square Garden debut. Meanwhile, the lightweight division’s recent injury wave underscores the physical toll of high-stakes MMA competition, with fighters like Alvin Hines and Diego Lopes also navigating setbacks in their title pursuits.
