Nebraska opponent fires defensive coordinator four games into season

Ahead of their November matchup, the upcoming Big Ten adversary for the Huskers has dismissed defensive coordinator Bobby Hauck following a sluggish start to the autumn schedule. The decision arrived after a 42-19 defeat against Ohio State compounded a 31-27 setback to Duke the previous week, pushing the unit down to 101st nationally in scoring defense and 111th in total yardage allowed.

Hauck had joined the program earlier in the year under head coach Bret Bielema to transition the group into a 3-3-5 scheme, taking over after Aaron Henry departed for Notre Dame.
