The NCAA Division I women’s volleyball committee unveiled its first in-season top 16 rankings on October 18, offering an early glimpse into potential NCAA tournament seeding. Nebraska claimed the top spot with an undefeated 19-0 record, leading a list that includes powerhouse programs like Pitt (17-1), Kentucky (15-3), and Louisville (18-2).
The rankings, which expanded to 16 teams for the third consecutive year, were determined by factors such as strength of schedule, head-to-head matchups, and wins over top-10 opponents, with the committee evaluating 64 teams in total. This early ranking provides fans with a preview of the competitive landscape ahead of the NCAA tournament, set to conclude with Selection Sunday on November 29.
Additionally, the 2026 DI women’s volleyball championship semifinals and finals will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on December 17 and 20, respectively.
