NBA's most overrated players: James Harden and Paul George make list -- and so do some young All-Stars
October 15, 2026
As the NBA gears up for the 2026-27 season, CBS Sports has sparked debate by identifying players whose rankings may not fully reflect their actual impact. The list highlights James Harden, whose offensive prowess has drawn mixed opinions, with some analysts questioning whether his current standing aligns with his recent performance.
Alongside Harden, young All-Stars like Evan Mobley are under scrutiny, particularly for their perceived overvaluation in league-wide rankings. Mobley, a standout defender and third-option scorer for the Cavaliers, faces skepticism about his offensive ceiling, despite his defensive excellence and consistent production.
The discussion underscores how subjective player evaluations can be, even among experts, as rankings like the CBS Sports Top 100 often reveal stark differences in individual perspectives.
