NBA's Las Vegas expansion team may not debut until 2029-30 season

While the National Basketball Association previously targeted the 2028-29 campaign to introduce new franchises in the Pacific Northwest and Nevada, scheduling for the Sin City entry may slip back to the 2029-30 season. Commissioner Adam Silver noted that Seattle already possesses a ready facility in Climate Pledge Arena that would need only minor adjustments, whereas the Nevada location still lacks a finalized real estate footprint for a brand-new stadium project.

League officials anticipate a formal resolution regarding expansion rights and ownership groups by the conclusion of the calendar year.
