Boston Celtics season preview: Opening schedule, win projection and everything to know for 2026-27

The Boston Celtics enter the 2026-27 campaign following a 56-26 record and a first-round exit against the 76ers. The roster features significant changes, including the acquisition of Paul George and the departure of Jaylen Brown.

Management also added Mike Conley Jr. and Mitchell Robinson while securing extensions for Neemias Queta, Jordan Walsh, and Ron Harper Jr.

Draft picks Chris Cenac Jr. and Dillon Mitchell join the squad, which is currently ranked ninth in preseason power rankings with a projected win total of 51.5.

The team faces questions regarding their center rotation and how Jayson Tatum will lead the group as the primary star. The season begins with an October 20 matchup against the Pistons followed by a home game against the Knicks on October 23.
