The Los Angeles Rams’ already rocky 2026 season has taken a sharp turn for the worse, with a cascade of injuries that could dramatically reshape their playoff hopes—and Cleveland’s draft position. The team, now at 2-4 after six games, lost star defensive end Myles Garrett in Week 1 and has yet to see his return from surgery.
That setback alone would have been painful, but the Rams have since suffered four additional major injuries, including wide receiver Davante Adams, who is sidelined for 6-10 weeks after a hamstring injury suffered in last week’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The defensive line has also been decimated, with defensive tackle Poona Ford out for the season after a triceps rupture and Kobie Turner missing 4-6 weeks due to a groin injury.
Even the kicking game has been disrupted, as newly acquired kicker Blake Grupe tore his ACL during a tackle and will miss the remainder of the year, forcing the Rams to scramble for a replacement. With their top defensive player still out, their best route-runner and red-zone threat sidelined, and key defensive tackles missing extended time, the Rams’ already slim playoff chances have all but vanished.
The Browns, meanwhile, stand to benefit significantly from this injury crisis, as the Rams’ plummeting stock could push Cleveland’s 2027 first-round pick into the top five—far earlier than many anticipated when the trade for Garrett was made.
