Salt River Rafters pitcher Sean Sullivan reflected on a season of highs and challenges in 2026, marking his MLB debut in mid-June after battling illness during a Las Vegas appearance. Though his early outing stood out, Sullivan struggled with inconsistent performance, bouncing between Triple-A Albuquerque and the majors while dealing with an elbow issue that sidelined him from August through mid-September.
He returned for three late-season starts, posting a 2.84 ERA and 1.58 WHIP over 6.1 innings, though his five MLB appearances earlier in the year yielded a tough 8.87 ERA. Sullivan credited the experience as a learning opportunity, particularly the chance to face his hometown Boston Red Sox at Coors Field, and emphasized the importance of physical readiness for a full season ahead.
Now back with the Rafters for the 2027 campaign, he’s already made two starts, allowing five runs while focusing on rebuilding his strength and consistency.
