MLB playoff power rankings 2026: From the Astros to the Dodgers, which teams are ready to go on a World Series run?

The 2026 Major League Baseball postseason has officially arrived following the conclusion of Game 162. Twelve teams have advanced to the tournament, featuring the Houston Astros, who claimed the AL West title despite finishing the regular season with an 81-81 record.

Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox secured their playoff spot after finishing with an 84-78 record.

Yahoo Sports analyst Bruno Rouby published power rankings ahead of the opening games on Tuesday. Houston enters the postseason carrying an unaccustomed 500 record and a shallower roster, relying heavily on star players such as Yordan Alvarez, Isaac Paredes, Jeremy Peña, Hunter Brown, and closer Josh Hader to navigate the bracket.
