Mirabai Chanu wins maiden Asian Games medal, bags silver in 49kg category

Mirabai Chanu secured a silver medal in the 49kg division by managing a combined weight of 198 kg, featuring an 87 kg snatch and a 111 kg clean and jerk performance. This achievement marks her first Asian Games podium finish, making up for her fourth-place disappointment at the 2023 Hangzhou event where a physical setback during her last lift cost her a medal.
