Miguel Rojas, the 37‑year‑old veteran infielder, told his teammates that his playing days were over after the Dodgers were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series, capping a 6‑4 defeat in Game 4. He said he would stay with the organization in a player‑development capacity, hoping to eventually move into managing.
Rojas finished a 13‑year major‑league career split between Los Angeles and Miami, posting a .260 batting average, earning two World Series rings, and receiving three consecutive Roy Campanella Awards for clubhouse leadership. He debuted with the Dodgers in 2014, spent eight seasons with the Marlins before returning to LA in 2023, and famously hit a Game 7 home run to clinch the 2025 World Series.
The announcement was made as he stood by his locker at Dodger Stadium.
