Hank Brown connected with Reece Vander Zee on a sixteen-yard passing score with only two seconds left on the clock, delivering seventeenth-ranked Iowa a dramatic twenty to nineteen victory against eighteenth-ranked Michigan. The late heroics spoiled a strong statistical performance by the Wolverines, who had gained four hundred twenty-nine total yards and secured a nineteen to fourteen edge in the fourth period following a forty-nine-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Underwood to JJ Buchanan.

Despite holding a significant statistical advantage and leading for much of the contest, Michigan suffered its first defeat of the campaign, dropping their record to three and one while pushing the victorious Hawkeyes to four and zero.
