Michigan football’s season has taken a sharp turn after back-to-back losses, including a 20-14 defeat to Minnesota on the road, leaving the Wolverines at 0-2 in Big Ten play. The consecutive setbacks have effectively ended any realistic hopes of a conference title run, shifting focus to postseason expectations.
Analysts have adjusted their bowl projections significantly in response, with ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach now placing Michigan in lower-tier matchups. Bonagura projects the Wolverines in the Cactus Bowl against Oklahoma State (3-1), while Schlabach envisions a January 2 showdown in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl with Virginia (3-1).
Meanwhile, Sports Illustrated’s Bryan Fischer has paired Michigan with Louisville in the Pinstripe Bowl, following the Cardinals’ recent struggles.
