Mets option Jefry Yan to minors, call up Chayce McDermott

In a flurry of late-season roster adjustments, the New York Mets have sent left-hander Jefry Yan down to the minor leagues while promoting right-handed reliever Chayce McDermott for the final stretch of the campaign. Yan finishes his stint with the club spanning 20 and a third frames, yielding an earned run average of 4.87 alongside twenty-six punchouts and fifteen walks, while also drawing notice for his animated strikeout routines.

Meanwhile, McDermott steps into the active fold following prior brief appearances with Baltimore and Los Angeles earlier in the year, bringing a minor league ERA of 3.92 across 41.1 minor league frames alongside a 5.87 ERA in limited major league action.
