Message received! Contreras goes all-out day after benching

Following a managerial benching for failing to hustle the day before, Milwaukee catcher William Contreras put on an energetic display during the opening game of a weekend series against St. Louis.

He aggressively sprinted and slid into first base on a routine groundout, prompting amusement from skipper Pat Murphy in the dugout. Murphy defended the prior discipline by emphasizing that even top performers must maintain full effort during crucial game situations, while teammates like Jake Bauers voiced support for the strict standards as the club prepares for the postseason.
