Maryland football makes coaching change, fires DC Ted Monachino

Maryland announced it has dismissed defensive coordinator Ted Monachino following a 37-30 defeat to Rutgers that dropped the Terrapins to a 2-5 record. The loss saw Maryland surrender a 23-13 lead in the second half and marked its fifth straight defeat.

The coaching change comes as the program looks to reset during an upcoming bye week, with the decision underscoring concerns about the team's performance after a string of setbacks.
