The Miami Marlins have overhauled their broadcast team ahead of the upcoming season, prioritizing personalities with strong social media influence to drive subscriptions for their revamped TV model. The team released longtime play-by-play voice Kyle Sielaff, analysts Jeff Nelson and Rod Allen, and studio host Craig Minervini, replacing them with Jack McMullen—formerly the Marlins’ radio announcer—as the new TV play-by-play voice.
Former players Gaby Sanchez and AJ Ramos will continue as analysts, while Craig Mish, a Florida-based baseball insider with over 43,000 X followers, replaces Minervini as the new studio host. The moves reflect a shift toward broadcasters who can actively promote the team’s subscription-based service, a key revenue stream after the Marlins left FanDuel Sports Network earlier this year.
The decision to retain sideline reporters Kelly Saco and Jeremy Tache also underscores the team’s focus on ambassadors who can engage fans and boost viewership through digital channels.
