Marc Marquez’s first words after controversial Marco Bezzecchi sprint crash

November 7, 2026

MotoGP championship leader Marc Marquez secured a victory in the Qatar Grand Prix sprint after a dramatic collision with title rival Marco Bezzecchi. The incident occurred on the fourth lap following a red flag caused by Pecco Bagnaia, resulting in Marquez deploying his airbag and maintaining his lead ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Jorge Martin.

While race stewards chose to take no further action regarding the contact, Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola expressed clear frustration with the outcome. Marquez now holds a significant 79-point advantage over Bezzecchi heading into Sunday's races at Lusail.
