Lynx go from WNBA's best to historic first-round playoff disaster

The top-seeded Minnesota Lynx suffered a historic exit from the postseason after being swept by the eighth-seeded New York Liberty in a best-of-three series. Game 1 took place in Minneapolis, followed by an 87-71 defeat in New York on Tuesday night that sealed the elimination.

Jonquel Jones paced the victors with twenty-one points and thirteen rebounds, while Breanna Stewart added twenty-one points and Sabrina Ionescu chipped in eighteen. Courtney Williams led Minnesota with eighteen points alongside fourteen points each from Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride, while newly named Rookie of the Year Olivia Miles managed just five points in sixteen minutes.

Head coach Cheryl Reeve admitted she never felt championship potential from this roster and accepted responsibility for the playoff shortcomings.
