LIV Golf has taken a critical step toward financial stability with a potential $300 million financing deal from BC Partners Credit, aimed at restarting the 2027 season. The league, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September after Saudi Arabia’s funding pullout, now has until early 2027 to complete its restructuring.
The new funding extends player negotiations until October 25, though participation remains optional even for those under multi-year contracts. Among the top creditors are high-profile players like Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, and Dustin Johnson, with unsecured claims totaling over $45 million collectively.
The investment also introduces a player-ownership model for the league’s teams, pending court approval, as LIV seeks to rebuild momentum after an early end to the 2026 season.
