The Plantation Course at Kapalua, a long-standing PGA Tour venue for 25 years, will now become a key stop on the LPGA Tour starting in 2027. The course, which hosted the Sentry Tournament from 1999 to 2013 and again in 2024–25, will welcome the Lotte Championship in March as part of the LPGA’s new Hawaii Swing.
The tournament, won by Jeeno Thitikul in its most recent edition, will feature a $3 million purse and mark the first LPGA event at Kapalua since Morgan Pressel’s 2008 victory at the Kapalua LPGA Classic. The move follows the PGA Tour’s decision to end its Maui tournament presence, creating an opportunity for the LPGA to expand its presence in the region alongside the newly announced Nanea Cup.
LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler emphasized the importance of venues with deep heritage, calling the partnership with Kapalua Resort and Lotte a cornerstone of the tour’s evolving schedule. The LPGA’s restructuring also includes the return of the Corning Classic after an 18-year absence and a co-sanctioned event in London with Golf Saudi in 2027, highlighting a focus on course quality, prize money, and strategic routing.
