Lion Tales: Ryan Field

Northwestern is preparing to debut its freshly constructed stadium in a nationally broadcast matchup, replacing the old facility built along Central Street in Evanston. Historically, visiting Penn State holds an eight-win, three-loss record in away games against the Wildcats within the Chicago suburbs, creating a rich history of prior meetings ahead of this upcoming contest.

Landmark past clashes include Mike Archie and Bobby Engram sparking an opening victory in 1993 back when the venue was known as Dyche Stadium, followed later by Darnell Autry accounting for every touchdown during a 1995 home triumph. Additional memorable matchups featured late offensive heroics from players such as Anthony Cleary, Curtis Enis, Zack Mills, and Derrick Williams, alongside Joe Paterno tying Bear Bryant's career win record in 2001.
